Ibrahim A. Mardam-Bey ME - Founder
22+ years of US, MENA and GCC International Finance, Investment Banking and Islamic Finance experience. Ibrahim was the co-founder and chief Executive Officer of Siraj Capital Ltd. He possesses a broad range of experiences unique in the international finance,, investment banking and Islamic Finance World. As an executive, he has held numerous senior positions, as an entrepreneur, he has been a principal in several successful ventures. In addition to his operational duties, Ibrahim maintains an active role in corporate governance and public speaking.

Some of his accomplishments prior to co-founding Siraj Capital include serving as CFO of a Telecommunications Company, Strategic Advisor and Non-Executive director of an educational software company, Chief Marketing Officer and member of the founding team of one of the MENA region’s structured finance banks. Ibrahim is a frequently sought out keynote speaker and published author. He has written and contributed on topics of International Finance, Islamic Banking and Sukuk and has been featured in such publications as Euromoney, Banker Middle East, Sukuk Insider and others. He has authored a chapter in Euromoney’s published book titled, “Islamic Retail Banking and Finance: Global Challenge and Opportunities.

Ibrahim is a member of the Arab Bankers Association of North America, the London-based Arab Bankers Association and the Young Arab Leaders. He has received numerous business and professional recognitions and awards for this pioneering work in several international Sukuk transactions. Mr. Mardam-Bey has successfully structured and arranged over $ 2 Billion in financing over the last 10 years.

Ibrahim holds an MA Degree in International Economics, a B.S degree in Finance and an Applied Economics Graduate Certificate from The American University, Washington, DC.

Shazilan Dahalan - Partner

Shazilan Dahalan is a partner of Merchant Edge Group, based in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

His main role in Merchant Edge Group is overseeing the Share Services Group which includes Finance, Accounting, HR & Admin and IT. He is also involved in the Execution process of the M-Advisory & Structuring Unit which includes Origination and Execution of investment deals.

Formerly he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Siraj Capital Limited, based in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 4 years since 2007. His role then was then overseeing the financial operations of Siraj Group including investee companies monitoring. During his tenure, he implemented a standardized reporting system for the Group and is responsible for the periodical submission of financial statement to regulators i.e. Dubai Financial Service Authority (DFSA) and Jersey’s Financial Service Authority (JFSA). Among his notable achievement to date in Siraj is the successful equity raising exercise, key member and major contributor in the successful formation of several private equity funds and investment in several high-growth profit-yielding companies. Shazilan was also the Financial Director of Siraj Capital Dubai, a DFSA regulated entity, and director on several other subsidiary companies.

Prior to joining Siraj Capital, he was the Vice President - Finance & Operations of Tricubes Berhad, a public listed company on Bursa Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange), in which he has served for the last 10 years in various management capacities covering mainly accounting, corporate finance, treasury, operations, procurement & manufacturing, human resources and administration.

He started his career in 1992 with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as Senior Executive and during the following 5 years, he has had extensive training in various audit, taxation and corporate services assignments in numerous private companies, cooperatives and public listed companies covering banking, capital markets, property developments, information communications & technology, manufacturing, services, trading and more.

In 1997, he left PwC and joined TricubesNCR (EPNCR), an associate JV company of NCR Corporation, as Manager - Finance & Administration and was involved in the implementation of Malaysian Government Multipurpose Smart Card Project, a high profile flagship project under the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) initiatives in Malaysia. He was instrumental in the growth of the company from just being a start-up and then went for public listing on the MESDAQ Bourse of Bursa Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) in 2004. During these times he had moved in ranks within the Tricubes Group until his last position held in December 2006 which was the Vice President - Finance & Operations.

Shazilan Dahalan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Honors) in 1992 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and became a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) in 1996.

Shazilan is a full member of The Institute of Public Accountants of Australia (IPA) with "MIPA" designation. He is also an associate member of The Institute of Financial Accountants of UK (IFA).
